FAQ’s

Can I get the kit dropped off at my house?

Check to see if your zip code is within the delivery area.

I’m outside of the delivery area, where can I pick up?

There are designated pick up locations on the perimeter of the delivery area.

What do I need to do if I want to keep our chicks?

You can extend your rental for $25/week. If you want to keep your chicks permanently, you’ll need:

  • a big box (a plastic bin with high sides works well)
  • a warming plate or heating lamp to keep your chicks warm. Quail need heat until they are at least two weeks old.
  • a quail feeder and waterer
  • game bird chick starter (food)
  • an aviary or hutch for them to live once they have all their feathers.

Can we share a hatching kit with other families?

You can share the kit, but keep in mind that the incubator should not be moved while in use. Once all your chicks are hatched, they can safely travel to another house if you are sharing the experience.

Can I rent a hatching kit for my classroom?

Yes! Hatching experiences are great for school classrooms. The kit comes with curriculum. Ask us about gifting a rental to your favorite teacher.
